Artist: Various
Title: Will Evil Win?
Source: Flexi 7" EP
Bitrate: V0 VBR
Running time (h:m:s): 00:14:44
Size (mb): 32.9
Label: Peaceville Records
Year: 1987

1. Anihilated - Inferno
2. Civilised Society? - Star Wars
3. Lord Crucifier - Deserter To Freedom
4. Desecrators - Ban On Impurity

Like the Tony Blackburn of punk, I've taken a few requests and I've pop-picked one for today's post. This particular piece of flimsy plastic was the first release on Hammy's (Instigators and Civilised Society?) newly emerging thrash-punk-metal label. To be honest, with the exception of Civilised Society?, the bands on here don't really do it for me - too much tuneless squealing, wailing and faux Yankee accents for my tastes. But it's a part of our history, and Mr. 7inchcrust asked me for it ever so politely.

Trivia fact - The Desecrators' guitarist is one Gizz Butt, of English Dogs and Prodigy fame, who recently played alongside Steve Ignorant at the 'Fleecing Of The 5000" fiasco. Punk's not dead, but it sometimes smells that way.

The artwork contains full images of both sides of the fold-out sleeve. I've resized it so that if you print it out and fold it along the fairly obvious lines, it'll wrap nicely around a CD.

Just discovered your site and am in total awe. What a total package of information, writing, links and music. On this particular post I agree with what's already been said and somewhere around here I know I have some Civilized Society? vinyl or cassette. Couldn't stand the English Dogs when I saw them in 1986, and I remember Prodigy, so the Desecrators was no surprise. Oh well I'm off to explore more of this wonderful site. Thanx for your time and energy.

    Hi Justin

Welcome and thanks for the kind words. The link here's also much appreciated.

By a strange coincidence, I was also looking at your blog today (following a link from a comment you left on Down Underground re: nazi music on his blog) and was impressed with what I found. Excellent work mate.

Durruti, that's funny because I was on my site when you were there and was wondering who the hell would be looking for nazi stuff on my site. I would never have gotten the Down Underground connection. Actually a very good post on his part because it stimulated a lot of dialogue on several fronts. He actually is a very thoughtful person and do wish he would express himself a little more. Music and the communication of ideas is what it's partially about. Really looking forward to trying some of the recipes here on your site. Anyway…thanx again for your time and energy.

    Hey ray ;)

Good to hear from you again and thanks to you and everyone else for leaving a comment, it always gives me a little lift.

If you've got a turntable and a PC, you can usually work out some way to rip straight from the vinyl to your computer. If you need a hand, let me know what kit you've got and I'll see if I can help out.

I think you probably found the 'Anglican Scrape Attic' flexi at 7inchcrust, where Billy (the owner) requested this.

As for Bush, the only thing I can tell you about 'em is that Dave Parsons (bass) used to be in British punk band The Partisans for a while.

    Cheers for now.

    And hello again Justin.

Sorry for spooking you out by making you think that nazis were loitering on your site! :D

I did link to Mark's blog because he seems like an interesting and intelligent bloke, but I think he got it totally wrong with this one. I don't link to nazi music, regardless of the reasons for posting it, and so I've removed the link from my blog to his because of this. A shame really, 'cos he's putting up some good stuff that I'm sure some of my visitors would appreciate as much as I do.

Anyway, enjoy playing with the recipes, that's what they're here for. Bon appétit!

i do have a record player and pc
i can't find a brand name on the player but i listen to it through a receiver
the pc - not to sure what it is but i know its a good one, it's my brother's really and he ordered all the parts and put it together to make it pretty fancy

That sounds pretty simple to rig - your receiver should have a 'tape out' socket on it. You just need to run a cable from that to the 'line in' on your soundcard. The type of cable you use depends on the types of sockets on your receiver and soundcard (the guide below has some info on this).

Then install Audacity. Once you've done that, open it and follow this guide.

That should be all you need to do to make your own rips.

If there's anything that's still not clear, let me know.

Good luck! I can't wait to hear what you've got :)

I have to say a few words here, I was one of the first bad guys who said something about these nazi posts in Down Underground blog, I removed the link from my blog and (for Crust's sake!) I had to apologize for this.

There are some music genres with no trace of politics, you can post them just to support the artist. Punk is full of politics though and by posting a record you support the artist and the same time spread the ideals of band, to me there is no way to ignore the lyrics of Sin Dios or Behind Enemy Lines songs and just focus on the music.

All these extreme right wing bands have a political message in their songs: homophobia, xenophobia, racial prejudice and all these craps. Posting a record you spread these ideals. That's what I said to Mark but he thought I told he is a nazi and started accusing me for being narrow minded, a punk who wears eye blinders and such things…

All I think is that Mark is just a music freak with no sense of the deeper meaning of politics that hide behind. And just 'cos someone is thinkful that don't mean he's right but it's my right to remove from my blog a link that leads to some ideals I hate (and I explained him the best way I could: Dunkelheit616 is a great black metal blog but also post nsbm crap, do I have to link it just for the sake of music?).

And a slight correction about my blog: I'm not the owner, there are two people in 7inchcrust and there is no any kind of hierarchy there, both have the same admin privileges, Whispy just happen to be busy all the time…

    Hi Billy

Thanks for the correction, and for your thoughtful comment.

I've since discovered that Mark links to 'Report Illegals' from his Myspace page. RI is an anti-immigrant group with links to The Minutemen (who in turn have links with the Ku Klux Klan) and other far-right organisations in the US. All of these groups want to turn the US into a super-fortress and expel 'illegal' immigrants. For a nation built on colonisation, slavery and theft of native land, that's a pretty twisted ideology.

For me it's simple: no one is illegal, fuck all borders!

you are absolutely true, since USA hasn't any common legacy or tradition and was born the way we all know, this is a twisted shit.
i didn't know this link about RI.. Mark said there is jewish blood in his vein and indirectly he links to KKK and other scums…well, either there is a lie in someone's words or a confused mind in someone's head…
the sad thing is that some people think "hey, its just music.."

there are no illegal people, fuck all borders, the country i live is the threshold to Europe for all these people who seek for a better future elsewhere since their country is on war or poverty (a result of colonialism in the previous centuries and the enthroning of puppet governments nowadays ), there are some concentration camps here and in many cases these people when get a job they are very close to be slaves….

  15. Thanx for this one!

Do you by any chance have Civilised Society's "Scrap Metal"? It's been on my want list for a long time ever since I lost the tape with it 10ish years ago. I'd really like to hear it again.

If you want I can put all other Dog On A Rope records in exchange (well, I'll put them anyway eventually) or anything else…?

    Cheers.

P.S. Also I've only heard AOS3's version of Tottenham Three and never got around getting anything by Tottenham AK 47's, so I'll get that too. Since it's an RB release I'll believe in Sean's taste 'cause it rarely failed.
