Keeping my side of the bargain with Malisha (of Röckin’ Nöiz fame), here's the first album from Civilised Society?, in all its metal-tinged punk glory. The production on this record is great, acid-sharp guitars and thunderous drums balanced perfectly with the triple-pronged vocals. The only criticism I can make is that it's a bit simple lyrically in places, but you can blame that on youthful ignorance and a desire to get the message out rather than spend time with a dictionary. The long hair was always slightly offputting too, but that's just me (apologies to any hairies reading this).

Ok - I can't cleverly work it into a sentence, so I'll come right out and ask: Have you got anything by "Nox Mortis" - not the metal band I should add, but I had some tracks on a comp tape called "Now That's What I Call Mucus" but the tape broke when I went to play it earlier today. Old age will get us all in the end.

The only Nox Mortis I know were from my home town (Southampton). I don't know anything about the 'Mucus' tape, but I do know that they produced a demo tape and had a few tracks on 'Shall We Dance?', a Meantime Records compilation. Is that who you mean?
Alas, the tape and record are no longer with me (the first broke, the second got nicked), but I'll see what I can track down - I'm still in touch with the guitarist Paul, and I've also got a mate who may still have it. The members of Nox Mortis were all previously in a band called Suicide Pact, and there's an outside chance of finding their demo too. I'll see what I can do…
